This week….

Its been a great week in 1SL and everyone has been working really hard! We have been learning about weight in maths, and continuing our learning around non-fiction in literacy.  We worked in teams to gather facts about a specific animal and at the end of this week filmed our own wildlife documentaries. The premier of which will be revealed later next week, so keep your eyes peeled on the blog!

We have also been creating some fabulous art based on the illustrations of Eric Carle, who created The Hungry Caterpillar. First we experimented with creating texture with paints on paper and then we used our paintings to form the different aspects of a butterfly.

In order to continue our understanding on how to become better learners we have been working on improving our memory in our weekly metacognition lessons this term. We have been exploring different strategies that help us remember and have decided the more we practice the better our memory is going to get. If we get super memories then we will be able to learn more and more! Today we worked on learning a poem. I wonder if anyone can use the 3 strategies we thought of today to help them learn the poem below…..
